Who we are:
Trinity Lutheran Church of Fairfield Texas is a part of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). We believe without reservation that the Scriptures of the Old and the New Testament are the Word of God, without error, and the only rule and norm of faith and of practice. The good news of God’s Word is that eternal salvation is found in faith in Christ Jesus alone. This salvation was won by God himself through the life and sacrifice of his only Son on the cross.
Where we come from:
The Lutheran Church has a rich history dating back to the 1500s and the Protestant Reformation. Those early reformers of the church crafted a detailed guide to understanding and rightly interpreting the Scriptures and documented it the Book of Concord, also called the Lutheran Confessions. Our churches in Synod hold to the Scriptures alone for the source of our teachings. This has been the case since its inception and bring continuity to the community of faith both across the world and across the centuries.
Some foundational truths:
Trinity Lutheran is a mission-oriented and Bible-based church that confesses the historic, orthodox Christian faith in the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as confessed in the authoritative Apostles and Nicene Creeds. Together with the universal Christian Church (that is all who truly believe and confess Jesus as Savior and God), the LCMS teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God, who created all that exists. This same God sent his Son to become man, live a sinless life, die, and rise to life again for the world’s redemption. God continues to work in this world through the means of His Holy Word and through his Sacraments to bring people to faith and new life. Through the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion God works faith in the hearts of believers and grants the forgiveness of sin.
What we do:
We know that we are saved by faith alone in Jesus. We are also called to live in this world, to be part of it, support it, love, care, and be an example to it. As part of that we have ministries within our community and continue to look for new and effective ways to live out this calling within our fallen and sinful world.
God invites all people:
All are welcomed to join us on Sunday mornings for worship and Bible study and find out more about our beliefs and to receive the gift of God’s eternal Word.
