The Reverend Robert Shockley is currently serving Trinity as our Pastor.
Pastor Shockley was born in the city of Los Angeles, California. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He is married to Deborah “Debbie” and they have two sons, four grandsons, two granddaughters-in-law, three great granddaughters and one great grandson. Our family is spread out between California, Florida, Georgia and Texas. Pastor and Debbie own a home in Jacksonville Texas which they purchased in July 2020.
Pastor Shockley began his education in 2006 which ultimately led to him becoming a Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP). He previously served four congregations in rural Northeast California, three as a Vacancy/Pulpit supply Pastor and the last one as a called Pastor. Pastor Shockley was a bi-vocational pastor, sometimes also referred to as a worker-priest, until he retired from his Information technology occupation in 2019. He changed his status to Emeritus in March 2020 prior to his moving to Texas. Since then, he has served several congregations in East Texas as a Pulpit Supply Pastor and now he is serving Trinity in Fairfield, Texas as their Vacancy Pastor.
Pastor is theologically conservative and follows the Three-Year Lectionary for worship & preaching. The hymns that he chooses for the church to sing are from the Lutheran Service Book. Most of his Bible Study material comes from Concordia Publishing House, Lutheran Hour Ministries, one of the two seminaries or one that he prepares.
